About a year ago we were going to his neighbours' wedding. Three days before "the day" I've asked him to show me what is he wearing to the wedding reception (cuz who doesn't like to see his man in a suite??? ;) ) And there it was: the ugliest tie I have ever seen.It was a poopy brown tie with silver and rusty orange curved lines. I' not sure that even sounds as terrible as it was.
I know You might expect for my first real blog to be about some girly, feminine stuff, but that day started with tie-panic so I decided to talk a bit about them, in case someone is having the same tie-panicky day. :)
Let me get You up to speed about neckties, or to be specific cravats. Cravats or neckties are supposed to be original Croatian "invention". It was invented in 17th century. It was the part of the Croatian national costume. Croatian mercenaries were in France doing their thang ;) and there were noticed by "fashion care providers" of Louis XIII. And after that the international success of necktie is history. (If you are more interested in neckties or cravats history You can read it here, the fabulous wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necktie )
Day after I met the creepy poopy tie I went to Croata, famous Croatian necktie brand and bought two beautiful ties. Croata is an exclusive Croatian necktie brand. Most of their ties are made of 100% silk except necktie series which have silk strands enriched with a core of 24 karat gold or teflon fibres (and those are stain proof which is a dream of every man, including mine).

Croata Clasicum with teflon finish
The design is unique, and each pattern is made in a few colours, and in extremely small quantities (cuz nobody really wants to come to a business meeting or on a friend's wedding and see 25 same ties). They are beautiful and made with so much attention to the smallest details.
No worries ladies, there is a great variety of female accessories available in Croata including scarfs and shawls, bags, wallets, etc...And they are all exceptional and of the highest quality.
Prices are reasonable bearing in mind the quality of the silk and design, ranging from 53€/69$ (400kn) up to 467€/605$. All in all, the prestigious Croatian product.
On their website, http://www.croata.hr , You can find many additional information (including Style adviser, how to clean and maintain your neckties and many ways how to tie a necktie) and shop with international shopping (220 countries with DHL delivery system).
He didn't find the ties but he, thankfully, didn't wear the poopy one. The ceremony was a success, he didn't trip over the robe. :) And all was well again.
Talk to you later,
Maria xoxo
